Swedish driver Marcus Ericsson clinched his fifth career victory at the inaugural Ontario Honda Indy race held in Markham, Ontario on Sunday. The win marks the first time the event has been hosted in Canada, moving from Toronto's Exhibition Place where it had been held since 1986.
Ericsson, a teammate of Alex Palou and Kyle Kirkwood at Andretti Global, overtook Romain Grosjean with four laps remaining to secure the victory. Grosjean finished second, while Power placed third.
The race was eventful, with six cautions and eleven cars failing to finish due to contact. Louis Foster, who had been fastest in practice and qualifying, crashed out early in the 43rd lap.
Ericsson's win narrows Palou's lead in the driver rankings, with Kirkwood still in contention for the title. The next race is scheduled for Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on July 2.
