Defendant in Montreal Girl's Murder Wanted to Testify Away from Jury

Luciano Frattolin, convicted of second-degree murder and concealment of a human corpse in the death of his nine-year-old daughter Melina Frattolin, expressed a desire to testify without the jury present. However, he ultimately did not take the stand during the trial.

The prosecution presented over two dozen witnesses over nearly three weeks, with location data from Frattolin's phone and car playing a crucial role in finding the body and proving his guilt. The defence argued that the evidence was circumstantial and objected to the presentation of a video sent by Melina to her mother.

Frattolin's lawyers had also requested the case to be dismissed, but their motions were denied.
